Privacy Policy
Effective date: 05 September 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Remote Worldwide Jobs (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses personal data when you use remoteworldwidejobs.com (the “Site”). Remote Worldwide Jobs is a job board that helps people find “work from anywhere” roles and enables recruiters/employers to list job vacancies.
Who we are (Data Controller)
The Data Controller for the Site is Remote Worldwide Jobs — contact: remoteworldwidejobs@gmail.com.
Note: Remote Worldwide Jobs is part of MapScratched Ltd., registered at Victoria Dock Road, E16 3BT, London, UK. Remote Worldwide Jobs operates as a separate entity for data protection purposes. MapScratched Ltd. may support operations (e.g., hosting, administration) but will only access personal data where necessary and under appropriate safeguards.
What data we collect
- Job poster contact email (provided by the person or organization publishing a job).
- Job description content (all information you include in a job listing, which may contain company details).
- Newsletter subscriber email (provided by users who sign up to receive updates).
We do not intentionally collect special categories of data (e.g., health, ethnicity) and we do not require account creation for job seekers. Please avoid including sensitive information in job descriptions.
Why we use your data (Purposes & Legal Bases)
- Publish and manage job listings — to create, host, display, and moderate your listing, and to contact you about it. Legal bases: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interests in operating a job board and preventing abuse (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Send the newsletter (only if you subscribe) — to deliver updates about new jobs or site news. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
- Ensure security and compliance — to detect misuse, enforce terms, and comply with legal obligations. Legal bases: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) and legal obligation where applicable (Article 6(1)(c)).
Where your data comes from
Directly from you when you submit a job or subscribe to the newsletter. We do not obtain personal data about you from third-party data brokers.
Do we share your data?
We do not sell your data. We share it only with essential service providers acting as our processors (for example: web hosting, cloud storage, email delivery). These providers may only process your data on our instructions, must keep it secure, and are bound by data processing agreements.
Your job listing (including any contact email you choose to include) is publicly visible on the Site. Consider using a dedicated recruiting inbox.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of our services.
International data transfers
We are based in the UK. If any processor stores or accesses data outside the UK/EEA, we will ensure appropriate safeguards, such as UK/EU Standard Contractual Clauses and additional measures where necessary, so that your rights remain protected.
How long we keep your data (Retention)
- Job poster contact email & job description: retained while the listing is live and for up to 12 months after expiry for administrative records, abuse prevention, and legal compliance. You may request removal sooner unless we must keep it to meet legal obligations.
- Newsletter subscriber email: retained until you unsubscribe or we determine your address is inactive, after which we promptly delete it (normally within 30 days).
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR/EU GDPR, you have the right to request: (a) access to your data; (b) correction (rectification); (c) deletion (erasure); (d) restriction of processing; (e) data portability; and (f) objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent (newsletter), you can withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any rights, email remoteworldwidejobs@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk.
Children
Our Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure; if we become aware of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and/or relevant authorities as required by law.
Cookies & tracking
We do not use non-essential tracking cookies or analytics on the Site. If this changes, we will update this Policy and (where required) ask for your consent.

Job listings may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content. Please review their privacy policies.
